Within the foundation we have dedicated volunteers that serve without hesitance to bring the mission and purpose to life - Meryl McMaster is one of them. But as much as Meryl served the foundation, she also found her purpose and calling while serving the foundation. Meryl is currently attending the DTS YWAM training programme in Jeffreys bay. I had a video call conversation with Meryl and the I was inspired, motivated and received so much strength from our chat. What led to this season in Meryl’s life is a series of divine moments, chance meetings and a simple hearts prayer we all know to very well: Here I am Lord send me; use me; prepare me.
Meryl credits the one year of serving the foundation to her being not only ready but also prepared for the journey. Self love, -respect and -acceptance is the main lessons she holds fast and when I asked to describe her journey with God thus far (without hesitance) Meryl boldly said: obedience. Obedient in serving, obedient in her salvation and obedient to the voice of God.
Although the decision to pursue the calling God gave Meryl was not an easy one because she also has a beautiful young daughter to think of, again the blind obedience to God’s voice and the fulfilment of God’s promises is what takes priority. Since starting her journey at DTS YWAM, Meryl has seen the favor of God for her and is living in the fruit of her obedience to God.
“This did not happen overnight; I felt unworthy, felt rejection and lost in my identity until I got saved and served the vision of the foundation. I sought the face of the Lord earnestly and constantly and made my inner prayer place a lifestyle. This I believe is a fulfilment of my inner prayer closet.”
When asked what Meryl would encourage someone with who is where she was, her encouragement was simple: seek the face of the Lord, stay earnest in prayer and don’t disregard the small, silent prayers and requests you make known to the Lord.
Meryl has no doubt that this is where God wants her to be and what she is supposed to be doing. We continue to pray for Meryl on this journey and speak more blessings, favor and strength to her.
